Meeting minutes are usually uploaded as soon as possible after meetings (about a week).
The School Act empowers parents to have a say in their child's education through Parent Advisory Councils (PACs), the official voice of parents in every school. PACs, led by elected members, work closely with the school board, principal, and staff, providing valuable input on all aspects of school life and student learning.
PACs create a welcoming space for parents to connect, share ideas, and make a positive impact on their school community. Your voice matters—join the conversation and help shape your child’s educational experience!

February 10, 2025 - Call for Nominations for 2025-26
Dear KELSET PAC Members,
Our upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) is on Wednesday, March 12, and we are now accepting nominations for the 2025-2026 PAC Executive. Our bylaws require one month’s notice, so we are officially starting the process now.
Since there is no Vice President, I am overseeing the Nomination Committee (happy to have help!) as per our bylaws.
Election & Voting Details
AGM Date: Wednesday, March 12 at 6:30 PM at KELSET Elementary, Room 55 (multi-purpose room by flagpoles)
Voting: 6:45 PM – 7:30 PM (Ballot counting & results announcement to follow)
In-person voting only by paper secret ballot—no online or proxy voting. Only parents/guardians of KELSET students can vote (1 vote per parent/guardian).
Final nominee list will be shared one week before the election.
Nominations remain open until the AGM, with final nominations accepted from the floor (6:30–6:45 PM).
Open Executive Positions
Some current PAC members want to continue in their roles, but all positions are open for nomination to ensure a fair election.
Elected PAC Executive Roles:

-

Why This Matters
Our PAC must have at least three executive members—President, Treasurer, and Secretary—to continue operating. If these positions aren’t filled:
PAC activities (fundraising, events, advocacy) will stop.
PAC funds could be frozen.
The PAC could dissolve, with its funds transferred to the school.
How to Nominate
Reply to this email with your nomination or any questions (self-nominations welcome).
Ensure all nominees are willing to accept the role if elected.
Final nominations will be accepted at the AGM (6:30–6:45 PM).
A final nominee list will be shared one week before the election.
Help Needed!
We need volunteers to help run the AGM election (setup, registration, ballot counting, etc.). There are only three of us, and this is our first time organizing a PAC election—any help is appreciated!
Looking forward to your nominations and seeing you at the AGM (but first at our February PAC meeting on Wednesday!). Questions? Please reach out.
